Test install on an virtual machine.

Post by nas_py_lord »

I am testing Nas4Free on VMware Player 5.0.1, and following this tutorial: http://www.anotherwindowsblog.com/2012/ ... twork.html to get familiar with the setup. The problem is, that when I try to give a name to a new user, in the create user section, the webgui goes unresponsive on Chrome and must reload it. Dont know why this happen :(

try another browser.
how much ram did you give the VM?
don't do thin provisioning with the harddisk inside vms, its slow as sh*t.

I will try IE 10 and Firefox 18.
I gave to it 1 GB of ram. I used two hard disks on the virtual machine, one of 5GB to act as a pendrive, for the OS, and another disk with 25 GB. Both disks expand dynamically on the real hard disk, they dont occupy 5 and 25 GB each one from the start, they start smaller. I think that's a way of thin provisioning?.

Problem solved, I restarted my windows 8 host, and then it worked. Maybe was because I dont always turn off the laptop, just hibernate it :D

Good ;)

For completion:

Code: Select all

Yup, exactly. ;)
