I try to install nas4free on hard drive when I have freenas.
But after the boot and scan SATAA hard disk, the progression freeze, at this message

after and after a log time I hhave this

you have some problem with CD reader, try other. ( some times old SCSI or old IDE CD-reader have this read problem, please use other)
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Ran into this last night. I used VirtualBox to install to a flash drive. I then booted the NAS Server on the flash drive.
