/!\ Mount problem after update from FreeNas

Post by tonypascal »

Hello,

I am really new to this forum, a little bit less to NAS4Free
I just upgraded my systeme from freenas to NAS4Free (9.1.0.1 - Sandstorm (revision 636))
I think I managed to import my 2 disks in SoftRaid

ada1 953870MB SAMSUNG HD103SJ 1AJ100E4 SAMSUNG HD103SJ S246J1KSA04752 Toujours actif RAID Logiciel CONNECTE
ada2 953870MB SAMSUNG HD103SJ 1AJ100E4 SAMSUNG HD103SJ S246JDWSA09418 Toujours actif RAID Logiciel CONNECTE

and the Raid array :

Miror 953870MB RAID logiciel n/a n/a RAID Logiciel n/a n/a

I tried to create a mount name Data
When I create mount of the Raid Array (name Miror) I can't see the content ! The folder Data is empty ! I am pretty sure the data are still there (in fact, I hope)

# df -Th
Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/md0 ufs 191M 187M 3.3M 98% /
devfs devfs 1.0k 1.0k 0B 100% /dev
procfs procfs 4.0k 4.0k 0B 100% /proc
/dev/ufsid/4af5fcff7cb9033e ufs 902G 707G 122G 85% /mnt/Data
/dev/md1 ufs 30M 3.2M 26M 11% /var
/dev/ada0a ufs 103M 91M 11M 89% /cf

The system is showing me the disk usage, and it is not empty, as I find in the mount point...

Maybe, there is a problem with the type of partition, or something...
Anyway, did someone already had such a problem, preventing from accessing the data ?
If anyone also managed to get the data back from a broken array

Tell me if you need more information.

Thanks for your help
And really great work continuing the dev for FreeNas, thanks !

Tony

Hi,

good to hear your data is back again. I never had problems with FreeBSD file systems, UFS2 is normally rock solid.

So I recommend to check if there is a reason for your corrupt file systems, the first point to check would be the state from the raid array and SMART values from the drives, specially a lot of defective and pending sectors are a bad sign and show the drive will bring you lots of problems in the next time, better to replace by a healthy one...
