Problem with install full version on hard drive

Post by bigal »

Hello

I trying to install OS on hard drive.
I have booted from USB. Then i choose option (9) Install/Upgrade. And then option 3 Install 'Full' OS on HDD. Then i press OK and got error
"[CRIT] hast_proto_recv_hdr
[CRIT] Assertion failed: (hptr != ((void *)0)), function hast_proto_recv_hdr, file /usr/src/sbin/hastctl/../hastd/hast_proto.c, line 160.
Failed to detect any CDROM/USB drive"

OS work perfectly from USB.

Google give nothing. What i doing wrong?

It is HP Microserver with AMD Turion II Neo N40L which is x64 so i use 64 bit version of OS.
You think it worth to try 32 bit OS?

Also, the first error on that step was "can't find /etc/hast.conf". /etc/hast.conf is the link to the file /var/etc/host.conf which was absent. After i created it and tried to launch HASP service, the error has changed on mentioned above.

There are more people that have a N40L and have no problems to install on Boot disk, If I remember, you need to hack bios to have a full speed 5th SATA port, please revise this forum for others user with same hardware, and revise specific N40L for instaucctions about to install FreeNAs / Nas4Free /etc.
