Post by Recursive »

Can I transfer the disk from a Freenas Saraband 32 bit installation to a current 64 bit installation? Thanks.

if you refer to data disk, YES, do not matter if N4F is 32 or 64 bit to work properly and detect disk.

If you refer to Boot Disk , NO, you need to do a new fresh install, and lost your old boot config & install.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

if your disk is ZFS, you need to import in new install, and probably upgrade ZFS from version v15 to v28 ( there are post about this).
If your disk is UFS, no problem, can be imported using new button in DISK webGUI ( "clear config & Import Disk"). once imported, you only need to mount to use it.

Please consider to use a new Boot disk to preserve your old Sabanda boot disk, in case that something do not work, you have the ability to return to your old Sabanda install.
