I have weird issue I'm trying to track down. My system specs are as follows:
Intel i7-920
24GB RAM
4 Mirrored vDevs (8x2TB Drives) in a single pool
SSD Cache Drive
USB Boot (Flash Drive)
When I run a scrub on the pool, about 8 hours in, the system reboots. What is even more weird is that the USB thumb drive is no longer present on the system. I have to reset the bios to default, remove the thumb drive, reboot, attach the thumb drive, and reconfigure the bios.
I'm not sure where to even start troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated. I would rather not go with ever running a scrub...

Re: Random Reboots During Scrub
I had a 30gb SSD attached to the pool as a cache disk. I removed the cache and the scrub completed successfully. Any idea why a cache SSD would cause a system lockup when the system is under high IO from a scrub?

Re: Random Reboots During Scrub
check the firmware on the ssd.
for example for the vertex drives there were serveral firmware updates before they fixed window BSOD, which could be the cause of your reboots.

Re: Random Reboots During Scrub
I'd run at least one full pass with MemTest x86+ just to rule out odd memory issues. It is possible that a part of code only runs in the configuration when the SSD is running as L2ARC.
If you get failures, I can advise on how to narrow down to determine if you have bad memory, CPU, or motherboard.
