Linking 2 nas4free boxes via crossover

Post by Jtcdesigns »

Can't really find an area in here that suits what I'm trying to do so I hope this is the right area...

I have 2 nas4free boxes the build right before the latest. I want to have them basically redundant servers incase one dies then the other one takes over as master. Anyone attempt this before?

Revise info about HAST/CARP viewforum.php?f=80

perhaps is what you want.

HAST= http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/disks-hast.html
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

This is exactly what I was looking for! At first I was thinking of connecting via ethernet ports on both servers and then figuring out rsync to do incremental syncs via those ports(assuming that was even possible to route traffic like that). I'll work my way over to HAST. I originally came from freenas and don't recall seeing this function.

Thanks a bunch!
