Hi,
Samba 4 is getting close, what about giving Nas4Free the additional capability to use Samba 4 and enable it as an Active Directory Domain Controller?
Making NAS4Free a more all in one solution
Some additional settings would be required in the Nas4Free GUI and the rest of Administration once setup can be done using Microsoft Tools.
I realize this would be a big job but what about something like this;
* Basic Samba settings in the GUI allowing you to set the Domain Name and the Domain Administrator Password all further user management is done via the Microsoft AD Users and Groups
* DNS GUI allowing you to create and manage A Records, CNAME etc
Thoughts?
