Embedded to full

Post by dpatino1 »

Hello,

I am currently using the embedded version running from a USB drive, but it's limitations are becoming a burden. Is there a simple way to upgrade or replace to the full version without losing all of my configurations?

Yes, simply save your actual config, do a new full install ( in a proper boot device), and once reboot and boot fine , restore previosly saved config.

PD: Proper boot device, can be a USB key , but you need to move logs to data disk to avoid write problems, and it's better to use an old IDE disk or some kind of profesional USB/CF disk to avoid write/exhaust/burn problems.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
