Hi guys,
I'm currently using FreeNAS 0.7.1 which is a almost 3 years old build. I never had any trouble with it but now feel the need to upgrade.
I tried to import my config.xml into NAS4Free but this is not possible as I read later. The only way to upgrade from Freenas to NAS4free is a conversion. And this is only supported with versions 0.7.2 and 0.7.5 (see here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nas4fre ... 1.0.1.636/).
My setup is really complex, I really don't want to do all the setting manually.
So now I need a FreeNAS 0.7.2 or 0.7.5 to be able to upgrade. But this versions are not online anymore. Could someone please publish them again so I don't keep being stock at 0.7.1?
Thanks a lot!

Re: please publish older FreeNAS to upgrade FreeNAS to NAS4f
correct, but you can upgrade it (boot from CD and select upgrade).mikeee wrote:I tried to import my config.xml into NAS4Free but this is not possible as I read later.
To do it in safe mode, it's better that first clone your boot disk, so in case of fail, you can easy restore your actual working image.
PD: If fails, the only way ( and recommended way) is to do a fresh install and configure services by hand, to do it safe too, do a screen capture or .mht of each webGUI state.
SMB shares & users , normally is the hard part, and SSH, FTP, Fuppes, etc... is the easy part.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Re: please publish older FreeNAS to upgrade FreeNAS to NAS4f
Thanks for your answer raulfg3.
I think there is some misunderstanding about the update process. As I understood and how it is defined in the release notes of NAS4free - see my link in the original post - the upgrade process is only possible from FreeNAS 0.7.2 and 0.7.5. Older FreeNAS versions as my 0.7.1 can not be updated to NAS4free. This is why I ask for someone to publish FreeNAS 0.7.2 again. This way I could update my 0.7.1 to 0.7.2 and than from this to NAS4free. This would be the easiest way for me.
I assume the NAS4Free developers got the whole repository from the original developers. So some of you guys should have access to it. Or aren't any developers in this Forum?
Thank you very much for your help.

See the forum rules,

IX was very clear about this.
