We are running NAS4Free on a Proliant N36L with 4 pcs Seagte Barracuda 2 TB
ST2000DM001. We had an error on disk ADA3 and now all of our disk space is gone.
Disk is configurerd as SoftRaid. What steps need i to do to get my setup working
again?

Re: Disk space suddenly lost. Error disk ADA3
in your browser, replace index.php by status.php , this generate a status report, save in .mth, compress and atach to this thread
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Re: Disk space suddenly lost. Error disk ADA3
it seems that ada3 has died.
its not in the logs
ada0 is reporting some dma read errors in the smart log.
your raid5 arrays MAIN seems to be there in a degraded state. (if one more drive fails all your data will be lost)
however it is not mounted.
so you will need to try and mount it.
and replace the failed disk.

Is it save to try to mount the disk before replacing?
I already ordered a replacement disk and follow the instructions in faq:0058.

Re: Disk space suddenly lost. Error disk ADA3
you should still be able to access the drives in the degraded state.
however since your first drive is showing problems in the smart report i would be very careful to put much load on the drives

I tried to mount with the ADA3 drive removed, but that did not work.b0ssman wrote:you should still be able to access the drives in the degraded state.
