Thanks for the links ... already visited them...
i's not so critical to connect it now .. i just wanted to add spare drive to zfspools and the nas box was build before me and there was pci card in there ... I'll try to find some compatibile sata controler either for PCIE x1 or PCI
Best regards

Are you sure you want to run 4 drives on PCIe x1? Bandwidth is a limiting factor here. If you can run x4 or x8 slots then look at the Highpoint RocketRAID 600 series or the 2720 ( 8 x SATAIII ports and PCIe x8 - using this myself). All supported and not too much $$$$ compared to Adaptec cards.
FYI I just replaced 2 x Sunix 4 port PCI SATA cards (sil3114 based) with a Highpoint 2720 card, running 6 x WD 1TB Green drives (SATAII) in ZFS Z2 array and get around 300MB/sec reads! Over 3 times the speed of running SATA 1 on old PCI slots...

can you give us some more information what motherboard you have?
I looked at this card, it does not have individual disk activity LED headers, which I wanted as my drive caddies provide these LED's.

I want to have an option of 4 drives only one would be constantly in use. others would be as a spare and only temporarily until I'd replace drive in its proper place
SGPIO is not compatible with my backplane as I don't have one ! The 2720 also has SGPIO.
