maybe 2x2 raid1 zfs, and 1 for backup.

zfs is great. if u have enough ram at least 4gb use zfs

i always use raid1. several years ago i used raid5, raid6, but didnt liked them. hard to rebuild. i u got raid1 and 1 hdd died u can just pick out ur other hdd and backup in another pc.

if you use single disk in ZFS or ZFS mirror, only 2GB is enought (some users use only 1GB viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3993) and works, but I do not recommend to use ZFS in this low RAM system UFS is better fot this cases.kiss.daniel wrote:zfs is great. if u have enough ram at least 4gb use zfs
If you want to use raidZ1 and more of 3 disk ( IE:5 disk, 4 GB is minimun and 8 GB is recommended) notice that works if you have only 2GB but probably you need to disble prefetch in ZFSkerntune to have a "stable" system.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
