636 -> 724 Issue

Post by jw48335 »

Hello,

I have a very vanilla system on 636. When I kick off a firmware update, nothing happens. The filesystem looks like this currently:

nas4free:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
/dev/md0 206M 203M 3M 99% /
devfs 1.0k 1.0k 0B 100% /dev
procfs 4.0k 4.0k 0B 100% /proc
zfspool 10T 2.6T 8.1T 24% /mnt/zfspool
/dev/md1 30M 4.5M 25M 15% /var
/dev/md2 222M 96M 126M 43% /var/tmp/ftmp
/dev/md3 222M 96M 126M 43% /var/tmp/ftmp

Is there a CLI upgrade command? I tried kicking off the web upgrade twice via the GUI, which I expect is why I've got a couple of ftmp mounts. I don't see anything that looks like an upgrade running:

nas4free:/cf/conf# ps -A

A fresh reboot got it to work. The uptime was only 17 days, and this happens more often than not on these upgrades, where a reboot gets it to go. If there is a CLI equivalent command I could watch, that would be helpful.

Thanks,

-JW

backup your config, install a new system and restore the previously saved config

+1 , and to add more to my answer , use a new boot device ( if somethings goes wrong, you can use original to boot)
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
