I have Freenas(nas4free) 0.7.2 and a 3 disk RAID 5 softRAID array where something happened and the system wouldn't boot, citing errors with one of the disks. So I replaced it with another 2TB disk and it booted up fine. I inserted the disk into the array and it started rebuilding. Problem is, it's been over two days and it's at 4%...
On top of that, I can't access the RAID while it is rebuilding - otherwise I'd have pulled off the data and just rebuilt the array from scratch. The Mount Point page shows "Error - Retry" and if I try to mount it manually using the tools tab it also gives me an error. This is from the log:
smbd[12497]: [2013/06/24 12:25:32.340787, 0] lib/util_sock.c:474(read_fd_with_timeout)
smbd[12497]: [2013/06/24 12:25:32.340932, 0] lib/util_sock.c:1441(get_peer_addr_internal)
smbd[12497]: getpeername failed. Error was Socket is not connected
smbd[12497]: read_fd_with_timeout: client 0.0.0.0 read error = Socket is not connected.
Any idea how to fix either problem?

Re: RAID 5 Rebuilding taking WAY too long?
Why is it I only figure things out on my own AFTER I finally give up and ask for help?
I put the old drive back in and had to run fsck_ufs to get it to check through the RAID. I had tried through the GUI the other day but it didn't do anything. Once it checked for errors it let me mount the RAId again using the old drives - no need to rebuild.

Re: RAID 5 Rebuilding taking WAY too long?
remember that RAID is not a backup, save this time your valuable data in two places, and please consider to migrato to RaidZ1 that is more or less like raid 5, but more robust.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
