Port Forwarding Problems

Post by xbot64 »

hi guys and gals,

I'm a n00b at nas4free but have been up all night trying to figure out why it is that my nas4free box has two issues:
  • 1) i can't get transmission to approve the port I have created for it on my router
    2) i can't get transmission to start the torrents I have added to the torrent list
Problem 1
I have created a port forward rule for my NAS on the web interface of the router, and it contains the IP address of the NAS, e.g. 192.168.1.45. I have assigned port 13264 to the NAS box.

I have also made sure that the IP addresses are correctly inherited all the way through the hierarchy, eg. on Services|BitTorrent in nas4free settings. I have also read a lot online, and have added my ISPs gateway under Network|LAN Management. I have tried disabling the firewall of the router, but this doesn't change anything either.

As a side note, when I try using http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to test my ports, I can see the ports that my laptap uses, but cannot see the port that I have assigned to the NAS box, namely 13264. Strange!

Problem 2
I have set all folder permissions to 0777, is that correct?

I'm really looking forward to some help here, as I am stumped!

Best,
xbot64

i you ask about User mask, No, 777 mean No permision, 000 mean all permission
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Thank you, I set the permissions to 000 and it all worked. Plus, I took away the forwarding, and went for uPNP instead.

Thanks once more!
