full to embedded and upgrade

Post by mtnredhed »

When I first put my N4F server together, I thought I wanted the full install and I would be adding packages later. Later never happened, and at this point won't.

My installed version is 9.1.0.1 rev 273 and I'm using ZFS with 2 pairs of mirrored disks.

In order to make it easier to update I'd like to look at going to the embedded version. (current). I've saved the current config to my laptop.

Would this be as simple as just making a usb flash drive bootable with the current distro, booting and then restoring the config that was saved from the full version? The only reference in the xml I can find to the boot disk is a swap partition.

If this is too painful, I'll just do the normal cdrom "full" upgrade.

thanks
