Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
i know that i've no needs of a super-server dedicated for my home network usage (basically ssh, ftp, smb, bittorrent and rsync) where the smb system is the most band consuming process but don't you think that if i go for an upgrade, a x64 system will be better?

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
that board has a celeron 847 sandy bridge on it.
it supports x64.
its very good value for money for a small nas.

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
can you test the speed with http://crystalmark.info/software/Crysta ... dex-e.html ?

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
i think you get the problem, in fact this is the test of primary disk
i've also a secondary disk on my desktop, so i've tested it as well
and made a transfert to this disk

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
yes. now mount the network share and run the test on the mounted drive.

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
btw that was point 8 on the list from post #5 to check for performance problems.

Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps
yes, but someone said at post #10b0ssman wrote:btw that was point 8 on the list from post #5 to check for performance problems.
so i've stopped testing hard drives because they are all SATA connectedSATA1 is able to transfer 150MB/second, so this or the PCI bus with 133MB/second are not the large limiting factor
