Re: gigabit network limited to 200Mbps

i know that i've no needs of a super-server dedicated for my home network usage (basically ssh, ftp, smb, bittorrent and rsync) where the smb system is the most band consuming process but don't you think that if i go for an upgrade, a x64 system will be better?

Code: Select all

that board has a celeron 847 sandy bridge on it.
it supports x64.
its very good value for money for a small nas.
Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.

ALASKA A M I Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 847 @ 1.10GHz 4598MiB RAM

bus=1 hubaddr=1 port=0 devaddr=2 interface=0 bus=2 hubaddr=4 port=1
devaddr=3 interface=0 PLIP network interface RTL8169S/8110S/8211
1000BASE-T media interface Intel Panther Point USB 2.0 controller

i think you get the problem, in fact this is the test of primary disk
disco_c.png
i've also a secondary disk on my desktop, so i've tested it as well

and made a transfert to this disk

yes, but someone said at post #10
SATA1 is able to transfer 150MB/second, so this or the PCI bus with 133MB/second are not the large limiting factor
so i've stopped testing hard drives because they are all SATA connected
