Simple question, but I want to be sure
The before you upgrade warning says you need 512 mb before starting the upgrade.
My system reports that I'm using 41% of 799, which means I don't have 512 free
But I do have more than 512 total.
Am I ok to start the upgrade?
thanks in advance.

Re: Total Memory or Free Memory before upgrade
you need 512 MB free to unpack new firmware prior to replace existing one, I asume you use embeded install .
Several options:
1- Stop services until you have 512MB free, reboot if needed to be sure that recover RAM once you stop service. (once you sucessfully upgrade N4F, you can start desired services again).
2- Add more RAM to your system ( 799MB is enought to work, but a bit more is cheap and your system can be more happy).
3- Do not use firmware upgrade button from webGUI, use instead, upgrade procedure from CD ( Boot from CD and upgrade, this avoid problem with RAM exhaust)

12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
