Hello,
Since I upgraded the embedded 9.1.0.1 - Sandstorm (revision 775) to 804, I can no more log in from my SGS2 directly in the LAN using the FTP. It only works when I ping my DNS address. Under rev.775 it was all OK, except for the FTP service dying from time to time, needing to be rebooted from the webGUI... Is this due to the new FTP version not supported by AndFTP?
And by the way, where have the charset selection box gone since the good ol' 0.7er FreeNAS is named NAS4Free?
Ciao @+

Re: FTP problems rev.804
Hello,
Well, I didn't change any FTP settings since FreeNAS 0.69.4164 and my server is running well 24/7 since 2008... Except for routine maintenance and servicing. By the way, with Filezilla 3.5.2 (delivered with MDV 2010.2) there's no problem connecting from the LAN or from anywhere in the world. I only have problems with AndFTP complaining about "invalid credentials"...
Oh yes I know... By taking a look at the logs:
proftpd[40157]: xxxxxxxxxxxx (192.168.0.62[192.168.0.62]) - FTP session closed.
Aug 9 20:46:36 xxxxxx proftpd[40157]: xxxxxxxxxxxx (192.168.0.62[192.168.0.62]) - mod_wrap/1.2.4: refused connection from ::ffff:192.168.0.62

That seems to be new... Nas4Free is suddenly filtering the hosts... Good thing. The problem is only (but it's not so hopeless) that I have a bullshitty Speedport 723V rev.B that is not able to do such basic things like IP reservation, like every other router brand in the world that have this functionnality inclusiv in it's firmware... And the f..k Speedport does not admit any other "router" to be a DHCP server and does not grant any i-net access as long as it is not DHCP server itself... But that's another story: the story of the goofy people who wrote the firmware of the Speedport series trashware.
Now all seem to work fine again here after changing the IP adress of my phone in the "host allow" listing.
Many thanks for the quick answer Alexey!

Re: FTP problems rev.804
Add to /etc/rc.conf over webgui string
And restart ftp service
Code: Select all

Re: [RESOLVED] FTP problems rev.804
OK.
I'll add this line too to avoid inconveniences at next IP address rotation.
Thank's a lot.
