Cannot Copy.... Access is Denied.

Post by samoansaiyan »

Hey guys... very new to Nas4free. Have migrated from freenas7. Love this software....

My problem.
Setting up was fine. I am able to see my smb shares on my network places on my windows laptop but I cant seem to copy from windows to nas server. The error Im getting is

cannot copy......... access is denied.
make sure the disk is not full or write protected.

and I get it when trying to drag files from my windows to nas thru smb. I believe it to be a permissions issue but I dont know where to start. I first set up my freenas about 3-4 years ago so Ive forgotten how to do so.

Thanks
Michael

Try to configure SMB as NT1 and anonymous instead SMB 2
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Hey Raul.

Thanks for your quick response. I was able to copy, this is what I did, After creating shares on smb I simple just went to windows open my network places between windows xp and nas4free and just drag files and created folders in there. Unusual? I dont know works for now.
