I got an i3, 16gb ram and 2 identically velociraptors hdd's 500gb each (10000rpm).
I downloaded NAS4Free-x64-LiveCD-9.1.0.1.847.iso (200.9 MB) and I want to install it.
My mobo is having RAID onboard so from BIOS I made a RAID1 volume.
I tried to install NAS4Free but is not seeing that RAID1 matrix. NAS4Free installer is seeing the 2 hdd's separately.
How can I done this?
I want to install NAS4Free in RAID1. My files are important and that's why I want RAID1.
I don't want to have NAS4Free running from CD or usb stick. I want to have it installed on my computer. (Like a Linux distro for example.)

Re: How to install NAS4Free on RAID1 i3 computer?
what is the reason for wanting to install it instead of running the embedded version from an usb stick? because that is the recommended way of running nas4free.
the reason why your raid1 doesnt work is because the onboard raid controllers are fake software raid controller which are not supported.

Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.

Aw... is it better to run it from usb stick than installed?
So I can not use the RAID?
Not good...
So what can I do next?
I need that RAID1 for making the data safe.

Re: How to install NAS4Free on RAID1 i3 computer?
you dont want to use the onboard raid.
you want to use a zfs mirror and keep the data and operating system serperant.
so install the embedded version on a usb stick and create a zfs mirror on the discs.
