If you have an isssue of slow read speed and very slow write speed, check your DNS setting of NAS4free.
Make sure it point to your gateway/ router (e.g. 192.168.0.1 in most case)

Having incorrect DNS can't mess with things on the NAS as that has happened to me as well, but you aren't required to use your router for DNS. You can use one of the various public ones like Google's 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.
