Disk labels

Post by BodgeIT »

I have labelled my disks because of the issue with changing drive names.
I have two raidz arrays, 6 drives in total.

The issue I have is not with the fact that labelling needs to be done in the console but with the fact that there is no way to connect labels with drive names in the gui. Essentially I have to maintain my own list so that I know what labels are attached to what drives.

Could we add a label column to the disk management page?

I'd like to second this request. I'm in the process of adding 2 new drives to my system, it would be nice if possible to add a column for the description I typed in for the 2 new drives so that I can tell which is which when editing in the Disks|Management page. I'm very paranoid of choosing the wrong disk based on serial number only.
Thanks for all your hard work.
