[solved] shift syndrom again and formating problem

Post by gecko1a »

Hi all,

I have tried to find a solution the last two days, but I didn't.

I replaced my WHS 2011 to NAS4Free.

Currently there is 1 vPool with 2 vDev . Each vDev has 4x2TB Raidz1. It works perfect. Last week 1 copied 10TB of data to it.

If I want at 3xTB HD I get two issues:

If I connect the three disks it will add as ada0-2, but in the list to Format there are ada8-10 and that are physical disks from my pool! The pool is OK.
Clear and reread is the same result.

If a Change the SATA Connection I can move the new Disk to ada8-10, but than I cann't see any Disk to format.
It is the same, if I only connect the new disks. I wiped the three disks as descript in the FAQ.

Any Suggestion?

Regards

gecko

Hi gecko1a

here's how you could fix it manually.

Obviously make sure you backup everything before you start. As always its always a risk when making changes manually.

Hope this helps.
