Fibre channel storage with multipath

Post by gwalborn »

I have a fibre channel raid array that I want to attach to my nas4free server. There are two 4Gb connections between the SAN and nas4free. All of the volumes on this array are presented to nas4free twice:

/dev/da0 & /dev/da5
/dev/da1 & /dev/da6
/dev/da2 & /dev/da7
/dev/da3 & /dev/da8

I managed to use gmultipath to create 4 multipath disks that correspond to the above devices. 'gmultipath list' returns:

I can access the "Shares" tab from CIFS/SMB and create a share name for these drives. I CANNOT, however, see these in the "Disk Management" tab. How can I make these drives available in the pull-down?

Did you try the "clear and import" button? I dont think Nas4free looks for "mp" devices. RedAntz has been working on controller improvements and maybe able to steer you in the right direction. I think you will have to edit the code
System specs: NAS4Free amd64-embedded on ASUSTeK. M5A78L-M LX PLUS - AMD Phenom(tm) II X3 720 Processor - 8GB ECC Ram, Storage: 2x ZFS mirrors with 4x Western Digital Green (WDC WD10EADS)

Yes, I tried clear and import, but it imported all the non-multipath devices (i.e., two devices for each drive) and did not create a multipath configuration. I believe you are right in that nas4free doesn't seem to see the multipath devices. Is there a way I could add the drives manually to the list of "disks"?
