Raid 5 gone after upgrade

Post by kevinevo7 »

Hi,

My freenas 7 with RAID 5 (4 disks) was only showing 2 disks. I rebooted the system, but it did not boot. kernel panic.
So I thought to upgrade to freenas 9. But importing de volume did not work as freenas did not support raid 5 anymore.
I saw to late that i needed NAS4Free.
Now I have installed NAS4Free, I still have a problem, my RAID 5 does work, and get the message: geom_raid5.ko module is too old.

Is there a way to get it working again, or to recover the data?

I've attached the status of my system.

Any help will be preciated.

Regards,

Kevin

Hi,

I've also tried Freenas 7, the version that I used before.
It has the same result.
Maybe the GTP table is damaged, while I tried it to import to Freenas 9

Bad news , sorry.

Please consider to use ZFS (raidZ1) and backup your most important data next time.
