it seems there is a port for zoneminder http://www.freshports.org/multimedia/zoneminder/
Did you try cd /usr/ports/multimedia/zoneminder/ && make install clean ?

ZoneMinder in Nas4free jail - did anyone manage to install/compile?

Did anyone manage to install/compile Zoneminder video surveillance software in NAS4Free jail? I made several attempts in 9.3 version, but did not succeed. I wonder if Nas4Free 10.x brings more promises and if anyone successfully installed Zoneminder in NAS4Free/FreeBSD at all.

I made a trial several month ago in nas4free jail, but there were errors during zoneminder compilation, and I abandoned my attempts.

khsoft, no need open new topic, we read your posts and understand your problem.
I try to install zoneminder at sunday.
But, for your reference. not all cameras work on FreeBSD, better way use virtualbox and ubuntu server as zoneminder host

Alexey, thank you for keeping attention on my problem. The idea is to use single PC both for NAS and for ZoneMinder. Probably I do not realize all possible ways of having ZoneMinder installed on nas4free machine. So far, I tried to install it in nas4free jail only.

You can install virtualbox on Nas4Free.
Zoneminder also exists as a vm IIRC.

And there are ways to convert a vmware virtual machine to a vbox vm

EDIT2: The file downloaded is an OVA file which can be imported to vbox

I have problem with 10.1 based NAS - for me network not work. I'll try make it today on 9.3 based

In this post I'll write about install

cd /usr/ports/multimedia/zoneminder && make install
need execute without clear workig folder
zoneminder use about mysql56-client and need database mysql56
pkg install databases/mysql56

IIt also use apache. I'll try apache22

cd /usr/ports/www/appache22 && make install clean
now need add to /etc/make .cof message about use apache22 Add

DEFAULT_VERSIONS=apache=2.2
Dtcfuse zoeminder's script create database fwith errors, I wat manually repair database. I need any admin for mysql ,
I plan use phpmyadmin - I need install php
I stop here .

Well, to add to my previous comments, I tried the zoneminder ova I linked above.
It just works. Easily updated to latest version, too.
My camera (Foscam FI8918W) worked right away, too...
I'm case anyone is interested....
