AMD E-350 cpu fan and heatsink

Post by dhawk312 »

Hey all. I've noticed a lot of people here are running N4F on an AMD E-350 APU inside an Antec 300 case. I've been running this same setup since I started with FreeNas and then later switched to Nas4Free. However, I moved recently and am forced to have my NAS in my livingroom. I've noticed the CPU fan is the loud, and the only audible fan in the box.

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket fan and heatsink for this MB/CPU combo that is silent or nearly silent? I've never considered one. I have no idea if these things are MB specific or not.

Thanks!

Which Mainboard do you have. ?
I fear there are no Mainboard specific solutions for E-350 CPUs and you must try something out with a bigger fan and think about it how to fix it .....

I have the ASRock E-350M1, which I bought the same week it was released. Runs CPU temps between 38-68C, with 68 during lengthy file transfers.

Here's the link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/E350M1/

looks like here are mounting wholes which a similar to Standard Chipset coolers.Have a look in this list :

I doublechecked, the Mounting Wholes and the Coolers for E-*350 Boards are not standardized....

Do unstandarized holes mean I can't just grab another heatsink?

they are not standardized heat sink.

you will have to build your own.

prob easiest would be to try and mount a 80mm fan on the heatsink.
