Upgrade from 0.7.2:5543

Post by PCgeek215 »

Hi All!

It's been a while since I did an upgrade as I'm still on FreeNAS 0.7.2 5543 running embedded on a bootable USB stick. Please correct me if I'm wrong but based on the latest update notes, given I am running a newer version than 0.7.2 5246 I should be able to upgrade through the FreeNAS web interface? Will I need to do a ZFS Pool import after this process?

If I can't use the web interface, I assume my other option is to create a new USB boot drive, boot the system and import my ZFS pool?

Thanks,

Tim

I beleive you will have to start fresh then import the ZFS Pool.

Print your XML config file and use that as a guide checking off the various services as you set them up. It is not that bad and well worth the effort.

Awesome, I've done a pool import before when I've changed hardware, shouldn't be too hard to again.

Thanks for the reply!
