Shares show, but are missing

Post by Phuzzy138 »

Something weird has happened.

I can see my shares, but when I try to connect to a shared folder on a computer I get an error.
I can see my Firefly server in ITunes, but there are Zero songs.
The PS3 detects my media server, but no titles are found.

When I go to my shares in NAS4Free, they show up but when I try to add a new share, I see my ZFS Pool, and when I click on it only 2 folders are visible, Databases and Temporary. Music, Videos and all other that I have created are not visible.

If I enter File Manager, then click on my Pool, all my folders are there with all their contents.

Is there a way to fix this so that my shares are accessible again?

Are you sure the permissions are valid? Have you tried to login either via the File Manager or SSH through Putty using the same user account that the SAMBA share would use? This is a great way to check permissions.

I was never able to get Firefly to work so I just had Itunes pull from the NAS using the SAMBA share.
