[Solved]NAS has no connection to router

Post by Morrio »

Hi all,

I installed N4F yesterday on my (first) NAS. Installation was ok as far as I know.
But after I configure the network IP Adress (DHCP Yes - IPv6 No) I get the IP Adress 127.0.0.1 for the WebGui and that can't be right.
Also i can not see the NAS in the DHCP Clients in the Router Configurations. Until now i never had a problem to get an ip with other PCs, Notebooks,...
It is also not possible to ping the router (From NAS).

Hopefully someone has an idea.

step #1 is to enable the NIC card or chip then step #2 [IP address]
be sure that you are connected to a known good router that will supply the DHCP address

Hi,

in step 1 ist only "auto-detection" possible to select.
At least the message "No link-up" detected is shown

i have the Asus H87i-Plus, and it looks like N4F did not support this board at the moment?

if there is a spare slot, a supported Gb NIC is the way to go

the OS will run on most any 32 or 64 bit [64 is way faster]
ZFS works well in the faster end of equipment range
I have tested both ends of the range, extreme light end shown here
