[DONE] Alternative UPnP Server
I was wondering how difficult it would be to replace Fuppes with another UPnP server such as MiniDLNA, considering how Fuppes development appears to have stopped.

Re: Alternative UPnP Server
I''m all for a different UPNP server, it's about time. Fuppes is rubbish.
And change mtdaapd for forked-daapd
What's the point in NAS4Free and it's ongoing development if it's still going to be packaged with obsolete service software?

Re: Alternative UPnP Server
My darling is "uShare", until now it worked out of the box at all Linux and FreeBSD machines where I have installed it, absolut without any problems.
The good thing with Fuppes are the different profiles you can setup and that it is still under development.
Yesterday I had to learn the hard way, that Fuppes needs for the database a different location as for the files... putting it into /mnt/disk/musik/ did not bring it to work, moving the database location to /mnt/disk/ was working successful...
So this could be a feature for the future, to warn the user about this behavior.

Re: Alternative UPnP Server
Can we get MiniDLNA to replace Fuppes, since Fuppes is stalled and not actively being worked on.

Re: [DONE] Alternative UPnP Server
Fuppes does work here but ... i would also be happy if there will be another alternative available. Even in the meanwhile a extra service as test package in nas4free so you are able to evaluate fuppes against something else.
Having a UPnP service on a nas device is at this moment i think a must have
