The s.m.a.r.t. monitoring with e-mail reports and s.m.a.r.t. settings saving does not seem to work. Something like "Error: Could not save changes (error code 1)". Reverted back and then ok. Separate sticks for each version.

Upgraded my Nas4free 9.1.0.1 embedded to 9.2.0.1 via webgui without any issues.
As desribed I had to clear config and import disks.
Upgrade of ZFS pools worked like a charm.
May I expect probs with my install?

NAS4Free 9.2.0.1 (revision 925) x64-embedded on 8GB usb-stick; AMD Athlon(tm) Dual Core Processor 4450e; 8GB RAM; 1 x Seagate 3 GB with ZFS, 4 x Samsung HD502IJ as ZRAID1 and SAMSUNG HD103UJ as ISCSI target

The arcsas driver is not loaded by default on this release. Also it looks like "System|Advanced|loader.conf" has no effect. I had to manually add it to /cf/boot/loader.conf.

Other than that the upgrade was successful using the webgui.

Should I worry about this:

Code: Select all

/dev/ada0a                     117M    112M    4.8M    96%    /cf
Not sure why it shows 117M, this is a 1GB flash drive.

because N4F DO NOT use all disk , only a small partition (117MB) so you can use rest of your boot disk as swap and/or data disk, if you want to have more free space on your boot partition, you MUST do a full install and whem promt about size for boot parttition define what you want, other wise default is used like is used on embeded.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Random reboots with NAS4Free 9.2.0.1.925 Released.

I think it is a IRQ problem. Can some one help me?

Hi tuaris.

What is your exact variable specified in loader.conf ? I have no problem executing in both full install and embedded install.

arcsas_load = YES
or
arcmsr_load = YES

is what you need. I loaded others for testing purpose.

I have:

But no loader.conf.local in my /boot:

Code: Select all

storage: /boot # ls
boot boot1 gptboot mbr pmbr zfs
boot0    defaults kernel   modules  pxeboot

*edited* My bad. Misread your post in a hurry.

If you use full install, it's located at /boot/ , if it's embedded, then it's at /cf/boot/ like what alexey123 mentioned below.

loader.conf.local IS NOT executed. Not even on 9.2.0.1-943. Please see my feature request:
