Hi,
Wich are optimal advanced parameters (Hard Disk Standby time,Advanced Power Management (APM), Acoustic Level (AAC)) for disks of RAID1 (less usage, very important data1) ?
And for a RAID0(mostly downloading!)?
Wich configuration do you use?
thanks.

Re: Optimal HDD Advanced Configuration
In my old NAS (which is a zooped-up Y2K-vintage Maxtor 4100 http://tinyurl.com/lxporay with 4 x 320GB Maxtor IDE drives in Windows Server 2003 RAID5), I set the drives to never spin down. Not a lot of options except timer, but it's been running for years. In my new N4F (RAID1) box, I set them to 128, no spin-down. Right/wrong, don't know. Acoustic is disabled since is pretty irrelevant with 5 - 40mm fans turning 5000 RPM. Sure wish I could get the proc to throttle, though...
