Transmission Permissions

Post by DanAddz »

Hi Guys,

I have a weird question,

I have set up a raspberry pi, running as a Transmission server and have mapped my network share called Guest, to a folder called /home/pi/NetworkDrive/.

This is fine, i am able to access the share and create files and folders, however for some reason when i create a folder and then enter that folder, i cannot create a file or folder in that one. its as if the share only allows you to create one folder.

To add to the weird question, when i set the Transmission client to download a torrent, it will download to 4MB and then stop with a Permission Denied error.

I have had a look at the permissions of the folder and they are fully open to anyone, the folder created by the torrent has the permissions of drwxr-xr-x, and the files have the permissions of -rw-r--r--.

How can i fix this to allow the pi/transmission to have permissions?

thanks in advance.

Dan

What user is Transmission using?
You can try Samba instead of NFS.
Watercooling is just the beginning ;)
