I have recently attempted to upgraded the firmware unsuccessfully and it appears as if the old USB is now corrupt.
Anycase, I downloaded the latest Live CD rom 9.2.0.1 - Shigawire (revision 943) and created a new USB, but now I had a problem where one of the drives were also not recognised correctly and went off line.
I also updated the firmware on the one hard drive, and it seems like that caused some problems in that it wasn't properly installed and created some errors.
This was eventually fixed and scrubs are coming out clean. viewtopic.php?f=66&t=6229 and viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6253&p=34427#p34417
I have enventually got my NAS running properly again, thank to @b0ssman but I am not looking forward to the last part of the configuration of the server, ie setting up services etc.
I still have the old corrupted USB. Is it worth the effort to try and salvage the data from the old USB or should I just bite the bullet and manually configure all the services and solftware. In essence I'm hoping to continue my old torrents where they were, configure the RSYNC services to backup all the machines automatically, the E-mail notifications etc.
As a second prize I would like to have a record of the previous config, and then use that information to ensure that I manually configure all the aspects correctly.
I'm running Mint 16 on my home machine and GPARTED did not really recognise the USB. (It appears to be a Master Boot Record with UFS),

I also have Linux Mint, pretty cool OS.
If you backed up your prior config file it would be as easy as view that xml file in any text editor.
If you dont have a backup can you resurrect your old setup and get the config file?

Re: Transferring the previous Configuration to a new Install
Hi kenZ71
I'm sure I'll somehow manage to resurrect the files...
but for now, when I'm inserting the USB into the Nas4Free server, on the console I get:
GEOM_PART: integrity check failed (da1s1, BSD)
It also does not want to mount so that I can copy or fsck the drive.
Ideally I would like to ahve fixed in on Mint, but this stage not too fussy.
Where is the config file located (assuming it is a single config file, or is it a set of files)
