Hi,
Moving files from my external USB 2.0 HDD connected on my newly setup NAS I only get write speeds of ~2-3MB per second... Anyone who has an idea on why?
Running a zfs pool with 3x3TB disks, single parity. 8GB RAM...
Regards, Tobbe G

What transfer speed do you spect of a USB conection?.
Do you try copy/move by SAMBA or FTP from other PC?
PD: Try copy first and delete when done, and compare speed.

Re: Transfer from external USB 2 HDD -> ZFS
Sorry was unclear... I am copying files, not moving.
Speed to copy from other computer in network (100Mbit fixed network) to a CIFS share on the NAS is 1.5MB/s (in parallel with the copy process from USB).
Stopping one or the other activity will not increase the throughput for the other activity still running...

Re: Transfer from external USB 2 HDD -> ZFS
Perhaps your pool was in degraded state, can you check and put a copy on your pool status?.
If was online (not degraded), you must do several test to identify your bottleneck.
1 first you test your Disk I/O using dd
perhaps this post help you: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=208
PD: Wait until copy terminate, do not initiate Test if Nas4free is working copying/moving data.
