NAS4Free - CARP - HAST - iSCSI :(

Hi All,

Im having a great deal headaches trying to get this all working.

NAS4Free as to be the only solution ive found that has everything im looking for but im finding it hard to configure it all.

What im trying to do:

Im our test lab, we have 5 ESXi servers running in a cluster, what im trying to achieve is centralised storage for a test that im running. I want to use CARP to control the Virtual IP so i can connect to both servers and HAST to replicate the changes between them. From both servers WebGUI they both look like they are configured correctly, but from the ESXi boths no box can see the iSCSI drives created on both servers.

What i would like to do is break this down in three areas CARP, HAST and iSCSI. As its the three main areas.

I believe the HAST configuration is right as its comes back as completed / connected. My only concern is that it requires me to run the hastctl role primary/secondary hast0 on each server to bring it back online from a reboot.

CARP, i dont know, i have configured it according to what everyone on the net says it should be configured but i cant ping the virtual IP.

iSCSI, im not too sure on how the configuration here should be configured as is it configured as two individual box or just the one working through the virtual IP. Im a bit confused here.

If someone can help me it would be much appreciated.

In return .. id be very happy to take on the task to full document this for myself and other users so it would be easier for them to configure there servers also.
