However, my comment was about overcoming the 2GB limit that NAS4Free has in order to boot embedded from USB.
I don't have CF cards or other alternative but to install on HDD, which are at least 500GB now and I don't like the idea of installing OS on the same drive as data. So using a HDD that big only for OS is not an option for me.
Is this 2GB USB limit still a problem with current version ?

if you install the embedded ver on to an old small Hdd
one could "install" the Hdd and set it to spin down after [loading the OS to RAM] 5 min.
now that swap is preferred my latest uses a 64Gb SSD [now inexpensive]
