9.1 to 92. u/g question re. ZFS

Post by furnas »

I am considering upgrading f/w from 9.1.0.1 to 9.2.0.1. My NAS uses ZFS.

The Readme/Changelog refers to doing the ZFS upgrade, after doing the clearing and importing of the disk configuration.

My question: Is the ZFS upgrade optional, when using the new f/w, or is it something that I must do?

TIA.

Yes ,
I am also still using ZFS Version 28 instead the new one.
But It is recommended to install this version new (and restore the Config.xml file then) instead of doing a simple upgrade. This will be possible again from later version on...

Thank you.

I think this means that I can make a new USB flash for embedded installation, while keeping the old one (with 9.1 f/w) to revert to in case the all-new 9.2 installation (to the new USB flash) goes badly. By which I mean that I won't have invalidated the ZFS for using with the old f/w.

OK?
