ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
Hello everybody,
first: sorry for my bad english;)
second: i googled and searched over days to find the solution...now i ask here...
so:
i cant save my dataset configuration.
When i hit the Apply Changes button nothing appear.
When i check the Information (Disks|ZFS|Datasets|Information) i get the correct dataset information.
the volume cant find the dataset befor i got saved these.
I also synchronized the virtual devices and pools, without any changes.
does anybody know how i can activate these?
...I thought my first problem would be the HAST...
I've got
Version:
9.2.0.1 - Shigawire (revision 972)
NAS4Free 9.2.0.1 (revision 972) x86-embedded
Build date:
Mon Apr 28 02:42:33 CEST 2014
Platform OS:
FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE-p4 (kern.osreldate: 902001
Log:
root: cannot open 'iSCSI/iSCSIdataset': dataset does not exist

Re: ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
try creating the dataset from the command line.
Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.

Re: ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
Save your actual config , do a new fresh embeded install in a new medium and restore config, perhaps you have an "error code 1" that means that a previous step can be good and can't be applied, so a new reinstall solve it.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

Re: ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
ok, if found out, that the system try to do something ( so the logs told ), but he doenst change the view...
he has got problems with the size. i changed them, also to 5mb...
the iscsi service doenst want to get up...
i tried another documentation...
http://learnfreenas.com/blog/FreeNAS_ZFS_iSCSI_v0.1.pdf
here i wouldnt create a volume or a dataset.
but here i cant get iscsi up...
i thought this problem changed from ZFS to iSCSI...

Re: ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
these logs doesnt show anything about why the service doenst runs.
It only shows the creation of a Volume or a dataset ( when i create one of these ).
i tried so start the services manually throught the shell,
but they doesnt stay up...
i doenst find logs to see why the service dropped or how they run on the walls...
(i see some german guys here...can we switch to german, so i dont run throught translation errors.)

Re: ZFS Dataset : Cant Apply Changes
i had the problem and manually created the directories under advanced-> file manager. then rebooted and everything seems okay now. seems to be a bug in zfs dataset creation but i know little if anything...
