Migrate from UFS to ZFS

Post by disaster »

Dears,
I've just got my HP n54l with 4GB ECC ram, so I think I can start playing with ZFS!
My nas has 2 * 3TB WD Red disks, and currently the softraid has failed for 1 disk (I was running on a shitty motherboard).
So I have all my data on 1 disk, and the other let's say it's free :-)

I wanted to upgrade my system to a mirrored ZFS setup, can I create a mirror with the "free" disk, copy data onto it, and then add the other disk?
On linux I could create a software raid 1 with a missing disk, but here I'm lost :-D

thanks!

its possible to start of with a single disk and convert it into a mirror.
