Replacing defective disk

Post by keefe »

Hi,

One of my disk (connected through a SAS controller) failed recently in a RAIDZ setup causing the computer to stuck in a read error loop before the OS started to boot.

I had to remove the defective disk in order for NAS4Free to start up and when it does the zpool I created is no longer available.

I there any way for me to bring the zpool online so i can replace it with a new disk?

When I plug the disk back in after NAS4Free has booted, I'm seeing these errors.

Code: Select all

SCSI sense: MEDIUM ERROR asc:11,0 (Unrecovered read error)
Error 5, Unretryable error
