+1 but i would like to have the plain CLI client available. Maybe there's a way to install some ftp-client through pkg_add.

you can use a ftpx client on your windows and stablish a NAS2otherftpserver transfer ( withou pass data trought your windows PC)

PD: You need to enable fxp on nas4free: http://wiki.nas4free.org/doku.php?id=do ... r_protocol
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

I use WinSCP for this porpouse, you need to enable SSH to work.

Winscp is the best choise to do it. Enable ssh on the nas, create a user with a console access, then download winscp, insert ip address, username, password and enjoy yourself :D
