Why shouldn't it ? LSI2008 supports Disks >2TB, think thats sufficient

yes it does.
the limit with some controllers are with > 2tb because those use 32 bit addressing.
the newer ones support 48 bit addressing.
Bit Sector Size = byte =
2^32 * 512 = 2199023255552 = 2TB
So if its supports 3Tb drives it will support 6tb drives.
