Track CIFS-Access Problems ...

Post by drnicolas »

I am facing lots of Problems when trying to access CIFS-shares

My NAS is member of a Windows 2008 domain structure - really ? How Do I test this best ?

- From Machine 1 (which I use most), i can see the NAS as "HP-NAS" in the network sturcture, see all the shares and do anything I like using a domain-user account. This is a physical machine with Windows 7/64

- From several other machines (physical and virtual), I can see "HP-NAS" and also can see the shares (first level). All machines are using Windows 7, 8.1 or W Server 20008R2
- Whenever I tryx to dive into the next levels or just browse the contents of the share, I see the green bar at the top of windows explorer and after a longer time i get an error message that I don't have access due to access rights.

To be honest, i don't have any idea how to set access rights correct. With normal level of logging, i don't get any clear messages about the problem. With debug level, i see thousands of messages without useful information.

Can anybody give me a "how-to find teh problem" ?

BTW: The shares are sitting on a ZFS

Edit:
From a windows-machine, I can see under "Properties" of the share 3 users:
Anybody ("Jeder" in german) with a hook on 'special rights'; same for 'root' and 'wheel'

But It seems, that I cannot change or add access rights
