Scrambled Configuration after changing Transfer speed

Post by gifo »

Hello everyone,
i'm experiencing several problems with my nas.
two days ago i've noticed that my network card (D-Link DGE-528T) was only negotiating 100Mbps speed instead of 1000Mbps (my whole network is working in gigabit eth) so i've swithed manually from the webgui.
BIG MISTAKE
Since that moment i was not able anymore to access the webgui or not even ssh the nas. I've shut it down and started to work on it today.
At the moment i wasn't able to make the nas go as before.
i've done a factory reset (scrambling my vpn setup) but nothing happened, the only way i've to access the webgui is by using the built on motherboard lan @100Mbps.
i've tried to disable that from bios, enable it egain, changed the network devices list from consoles. but nothing.
every time i boot the nas using the D-Link card i get an error, the card cannot establish a Link.
am i missing something?
it will be easier to format the pendrive and reinstall everything? (i've a sof raid, do i need to back it up before doing that?)

my config is 9.2 x86 embedded
on atom 1,6ghz + 2gbram ddr2
with 2tb softraid UFS
running services: samba+openvpn+minidlna
openvpn stopped working correctly since the lasts tweaks i've made to try solve the problem, the vpn connects only manually even if i've added a script at boot.
my mb is this http://goo.gl/Mwwk17
eth adapter is this http://goo.gl/j9wdgc
hope my poor english was clear enough
thanks in advance

open the config.xml file on /cf/conf/ of your bootdevice and check this section:

Code: Select all

-<interfaces> -<lan> <enable/>
<if>auto</if>
<ipaddr>dhcp</ipaddr>
<subnet>24</subnet>
<ipv6addr>auto</ipv6addr>
<ipv6subnet>64</ipv6subnet>
<media>autoselect</media>
<mediaopt/> </lan> </interfaces>
you need at least to set <media> to autoselect
i've a sof raid, do i need to back it up before doing that?
having a backup is always a good idea
but soft raid can be imported easily on a fresh install

thanks for your reply. i've checked the xml file and set media to autoselect.
seems you scrambled your config file. How did you modify it? i.e. which xml or text editor did you use?

use shell menu to reselect LAN and assing IP, if still do not work, think in a hardware problem ( NIC).
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
