Odd issue, In my supermicro box I have a Star Tec 3 bay hot swap drive tray model #HSB320SATBK, only 2 bays work at a time.
I have tried flipping the sata and power cables but it don't matter still only 2 drives work at the same time. Nothing stands out in the logs.
Anyone have experience with Star Tec? I see mixed reviews online.

Re: 3 Bay hot swap, only 2 work
Found the issue to be error 18, that is the user 18 inches from the machine did not check all the cables properly.
At the same time I replaced the 600 watt power supply with a 300. Now my cpu and drives temps are averaging 31 & 29 vs 33 & 40. The power bill might see a drop too.
