CAM statustimeout error when change disks

Post by reggaeman »

Hi everyone.
In my system, I use 2x160GB disk (zfs mirror) and everything was ok.
Today I change the 2 disk with 2x2TB. I make all the changes but some times the system is stuck.
I re-install it and after reboot for save network settings, at the monitor I have tis image:

I change sata cables for both disk just in case nat also I change sata ports.

I had a similar case when a new disk was for the garbage. SMART values was OK but I was able to hear a lot of clicking noise.... Replaced and I find peace. :D
Fractal Node 304, Avoton C2550 Quad-Core Processor, 8GB RAM ECC, 4 x 4TB WD RED in mirrors , NAS4Free 9.2.0.1 build 972

are you saying you replaced the raid with 2TB one at a time and grew the same z1 to 1.8TB?
I had a new drive die out during a replace step. Could be the case.

Alternatively bad cable (use cable with metal clips to lock in) and bad sata cards - if you are not using motherboards sata boards can cause this.

Whats your system specs?
ProdnNAS: Norco 4224 Chasis, Supermicro X8SiL-F Mobo, Xeon X3430, 2xM1015, 1xSil3112, 32GB (4x8GB) ECC RDIMM, 8x3TB WD Red/Purple Mix RAIDZ2 (16TB Usable), (5x3TB+3x4TB) WD Purple RAIDZ2(16TB Usable), 3x3TB WD Green RAIDZ, 700W Antec PSU, 6xV80E Nidec Screamers@6000rpm, NAS4Free 9.2.0.1 - Shigawire (r972)
